Welcome to Bridget & Bruce,
a yearlong campaign to sing with the Boss.
I grew up in a place a lot like the place Bruce grew up in. Because of that, I was drawn to his music at a very young age. It’s safe to say that Bruce taught me to dream.
I realized that I had a gift for music around the age of 5. By high school it was apparent that like many of the characters in Bruce’s songs, I would have to leave everything I know to make this crazy dream reality.
In 2002 I enrolled at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. I came down to Nashville like many do, young and with stars in my eyes. Like most of those people, I dreamed of platinum records, awards, getting a song on the radio, and simply making music for a living.
In 2006 I graduated with a degree in Commercial Music, Vocal Performance. It was then that reality set in. It’s been harder to “make it” than I ever imagined.
One of the reasons I always wanted to make it was because above all else, I wanted to meet and sing with Bruce. I would not only dream of getting a Grammy, I would dream that Bruce would be the one to give it for me. And in this crazy dream Bruce and I would get to talking and decide we would collaborate. This, for me, would be worth more than any award imaginable.
As we all know, times are tough. Not just for the music industry, but for everyone. That’s where this blog comes in.
If I never reach country super stardom, or have a #1 record, I can live with that. However, I cannot say my life is complete without singing with the Boss.
Week by week I will be recording and posting my favorite songs, in hopes that Bruce will somehow hear them and grant me my wish. I’m also asking you readers for song suggestions…and eventually there may even be a petition!
I am nothing out of the ordinary in terms of people. I am a common person. But I am who Bruce’s music touches every day and for that reason I am and always have been so drawn to him. His music is the soundtrack to my life. Bruce taught me what it was to dream, and now I’m hoping he can make my dreams reality. So, Mr. Springsteen, can I sing with you?

yeah yeah yeah!
What a phenomenal idea!!!!!!!!!!! I did my senior Media thesis on the direct correlation between Springsteen lyrics and the coming of age in the Coal Region of Schuylkill County. Can’t wait for next week’s song.
Kathy, Did you notice that is a Vanity necklace in this picture? 😉
I’m trying to think of some “Get Bridget to the Boss” Merch. Let me know if you have any ideas!
I’m so glad you finally started a blog. You have such a personality for it and I can’t wait to read about your journey. Did you want to do a link exchange with me – blog to blog -? I’m Project Zen @ http://theweeklyyogi.wordpress.com
Let me know!
Peace,
Vanessa
of course, V! As soon as I figure out how to do all of this stuff, I’ll for sure have a blog roll 🙂
Good Luck! Bridget. It would be great to have someone from Murray Meadow Lane in Ringtown sing with Bruce. I would love to see that LIVE! I will keep you in my prayers, but I’m sure you will get to achieve your dream. Take care
thank you!!! maybe we could even do it in murray meadows? hahah 🙂
Bridget…..you inspire me so much. This is a great idea, and I KNOW it is going to work. It has too. I have to believe that. I have to believe that your talent, passion, and determination will make this happen.

Otto! Great to hear from you. I have been receiving a lot of traffic from Germany today and it is so exciting! Thank you for the support, and please keep checking back. New songs usually go up every Monday. Thanks again for the sweet note! 11 times in Germany, wow. I’d love to see him play overseas.
Have been checking in for two weeks, can’t wait to get a new cover. I love these recordings.
Andrew, thanks for your patience! I’ve been travelling a lot for the holidays and before that I’ve been sick, unfortunately. New covers coming soon, I promise! thank’s for reading/listening.

Good stuff, I liked Fade Away a great deal. Looking foward to where you head next in this journey through Springsteen land.
Best of luck all the way from lebanon; you really are talented :))
Oh and, you really inspire me Bridget. Don’t give up yet, don’t give up at all. Dreams do Come true.
Good luck with your life long mission from all the Boss fans in UK. Your voice is a dream.
